Swedish Rococo Three-Drawer Bombe Commode, 18th Century Gustavian

Exceptional Swedish Rococo three-drawer bombe commode, c. 1770, having particularly pleasing proportions.  On first assessment, woods are Chestnut and plum with boxwood inlay.   the serpentine-outlined banded top inlaid with parquetry diamonds is raised above an undulating front, having three drawers over a flared skirt, the sides also inlaid with parquetry diamonds and original handles, the legs out swept. The piece has especially compact and beautifully proportioned form. All original fire-gilt handles and detail. Orebro (Sweden) on label, A Hollingworth (on back) 32.5” h. x 43” w. x 22” d.
