A spectacular Regency red leather-covered jewelry or dressing box with brass fittings, c. 1815-1820. Also known as a vanity or work box, the top is adorned with brass bear paws. The pagoda form top lifts to reveal a mirror and interior sections with lids above a drawer. The box rests on dramatic copper ball and brass claw feet.
