Oil on Canvas of Mary Bagot, Countess of Falmouth and Dorset.  Attributed to John Michael Wright, 1617, London.  Half-length. A 73 x 60 cm (F. 88.5 x 76 cm). Verso: old attribution to 'Sir Peter Lely' on old paper label.  Frame from the late 18th century. A comparable painting by John Michael Wright from 1670 is now in the Holburne Museum Bath UK. Provenance: South German private collection.

Mary Sackville, Countess of Falmouth and Dorset (1645 – 1679, née Bagot) was a British courtier and mistress of King Charles II. The King rewarded her with grants of land, including Somerset House, in the Strand,and a state pension
