A rare room-size Louis XV French, early 18th century “toile peinte” tapestry, depicting a fantasy wooded landscape with exotic birds in tones typical of aubusson tapestry and bordered by a separate foliate border with central cartouches. C. 1770. Similar works, considered national treasures, hang in the Musee Prebytere Savennieres in Angers, France.
