A stunning, large French cast iron figural garden fountain, 18th-19th Century.
Once part of a noted Virginia estate, this antique French fountain depicts a two putto, one clasping a sheath of wheat, the other holding a scythe supporting a wide urn bowl with foliate details and figured grape leaves on the handles supported on a molded round plinth base.
Attributed to Foundry: Fonte Antoine Durenn, Paris (1822-95), though possibly earlier.
