Beautiful French provincial rush seat settee bench with a matching pair of fauteuils (armchairs), pair of armchairs, beechwood, hand -carved and painted, c. 1780.
The three-seat ladder back settee having green paint and painted floral design on each slat, the sweeping arms are hand-carved, set upon a baluster support over turned and stop-fluted legs over refined tapered feet joined by stop-fluted stretchers. The triple- bowed seat rail has fine ribbon carving. Chairs have the same details.
Charming early French country pieces in excellent condition. The settee: 37” h. x 66” w. x 25” d, SH: 15 ¾, the chairs: 36” h. x 21” w. x 20” d. SH: 15. Dimensions do not include accompanying custom seat cushions.
